Barangay Assembly Day (March 28, 2009)
Opening ceremonies of the Barangay Assembly Day at Barangay Merville, Parañaque City, Metro Manila, Philippines held last March 28, 2009.
After the opening ceremonies, the following members of the Sangguniang Barangay of Merville rendered short messages to the guests and participants of the Assembly, to wit:
Kagawad Eddy O. Chan, Chairman of the Committees on Livehood, Cleanliness and Beautification
Kagawad Dante A. Mendoza, Chairman of the Committees on Health, Environment and Natural Resources
Kagawad Pablo L. Marquez, Chairman of the Committees on Education, Culture and Tourism and Senior Citizens Affairs
Kagawad Edgar G. Caballero, Chairman of Committees on Urban Poor,Social Services, Chieldren's and Women's Welfare and Disabled Persons
Punong Barangay Gloria C. Gutierrez delivers her "State of the Barangay Address" or SOBA during the Assembly.
P/Inspector Ananias E. Endraca, Officer-in-Charge of PNP-Community Police Assistance Center (COMPAC) II, a newly established police precinct at Barangay Merville, emphasized during the Assembly the vital roles of the police in the prevention and maintenance of peace and order in the community.
Atty. Antonio Fernando, Barangay Merville Human Rights Lawyer gave some important legal updates that would be beneficial to the constituents of the barangay.
Mr. Roman E. Valles, Jr., Barangay Merville N.G.O. Representative for Business Sector shared some inputs and employment opportunities that his company is extending to the unemployed residents of the barangay.
Ms. Mila Recinto, President of Camella Parañaque Homeowners' Association, shared some various issues and concerns affecting their community during the Open Forum of the Assembly.
Ms. Cherry-Lynn M. Capuno, representative from the DILG-Parañaque City delivered a short message in behalf of Ms. Teresita Fababier, City Director, DILG-Parañaque City before the Closing Ceremonies of the Assembly.
