This Pastor Has Guts!!

NOTE: I received this very interesting article from my e-mails requesting to send this to my friends. Well, as requested, I am posting this article to my blog that those interested individuals, including my friends, might read it, too.

>This Pastor has guts!! Thought you might enjoy this
>interesting prayer given in Kansas at the opening session of
>their Senate. It seems prayer still upsets some people. Please
>read.
>
>When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new session
>of the Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual
>generalities, but this is what they heard:
>
>"Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your
>forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance.
>We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but
>that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual
>equilibrium and reversed our values.
>We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
>We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
>We have killed our unborn and called it choice.
>We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.
>We have neglected to discipline our children
>and called it building self esteem.
>We have abused power and called it politics.
>We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it
>ambition.
>We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and
>called it freedom of speech and expression.
>We have ridiculed the time honored values of our forefathers
>and called it enlightenment.
>
>Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today;
>cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Amen!"
>
>The response was immediate. A number of
>legislators walked out during the prayer in protest.
>In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church,
>where Rev. Wright is pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls
>with only 47 of those calls responding negatively. The church is
>now receiving international requests for copies of this prayer from
>India, Africa and Korea.
>
>Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on
>his radio program, "The Rest of the Story," and received a larger
>response to this program than any other he has ever aired.
>
>With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep
>over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we
>again can be called "one nation under God."

There was a millionaire who was bothered by severe eye pain.

He consulted so many physicians and was getting his treatment done. He did not stop consulting galaxy of medical experts; he consumed heavy loads of drugs and underwent hundreds of injections.

But the ache persisted with great vigour than before. At last a monk who has supposed to be an expert in treating such patients was called for by the millionaire.

The monk understood his problem and said that for sometime he should concentrate only on green colours and not to fall his eyes on any other colours. The millionaire got together a group of painters and purchased barrels of green color and directed that every object his eye was likely to fall to be painted in green colour just as the monk had directed. When the monk came to visit him after few days, the millionaire's servants ran with buckets of green paints and poured on him since he was in red dress, lest their master not see any other colour and his eye ache would come back.

Hearing this monk laughed said "If only you had purchased a pair of green spectacles, worth just a few rupees, you could have saved these walls and trees and pots and all other articles and also could have saved a large share of his fortune. You cannot paint the world green." Let us change our vision and the world will appear accordingly. It is foolish to shape the world, let us shape ourselves first.

Lets change our vision..!!
